Summer of HPC is a PRACE programme that offers summer placements at HPC centres across Europe. Up to 24 top applicants from across Europe will be selected to participate. They will spend two months working on projects related to PRACE technical or industrial work to produce a visualisation or video. The programme will run from June 30th, to August 31th.
Applications are open. Deadline 28 February

PRACE is established as an international not-for-profit association (aisbl) with its seat in Brussels. It has 26 member countries whose representative organisations create a pan-European supercomputing infrastructure, providing access to computing and data management resources and services for large-scale scientific and engineering applications at the highest performance level.

HPC-Europa is an EC-funded programme, coordinated by Cineca, which allows researchers to carry out short "transnational access" visits.
The 11th call for visitors is now open. Deadline: 20th February 2020 (23:59 CET).

A new accelerated HPC system will be installed at Cineca in February.
This system, acquired by Cineca within the PPI4HPC European initiative, opens the way to the pre-exascale Leonardo supercomputer expected to be installed in 2021.

Hosting agreements have been signed between the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) and the eight sites where its first supercomputers will be located.

A new accelerated HPC partition will be installed at Cineca and should be available to production early 2020. This system, equipped with NVIDIA Volta V100 GPUs, opens the way to the pre-exascale Leonardo supercomputer expected to be installed in 2021.

The Italian supercomputer MARCONI, available to the Italian and European scientific community by ISCRA and PRACE, is now number 19 with ~10,5 PFlops in the November 2019 Top500 list of the fastest supercomputers in the world.
Two Cineca systems are ranked in the list.
