DARE (Digital environment for collaborative alliances to regenerate urban ecosystems in middle-sized cities) project won the 4th edition of the European Initiative UIA.
The main project objectives will be the digital transition and urban regeneration of the Darsena area in Ravenna, actively involving citizens for promoting and cocreating digital culture and to update local Public Administration.

New EC project: a unique and flexible platform for the creation of digital twins for industrial plants, a 20 million Euro European-funded project in which CINECA participates by providing its know-how in the field of big data analysis and in the definition of complex workflows on cloud and HPC systems.

European Processor Initiative (EPI) tutorial “First steps towards a made-in-Europe high-performance microprocessor” will be held on July 17th in Barcelona. Distinguished experts from the Initiative will give lectures during a three-hour meeting on HPC processor landscape and EPI’s plans. The tutorial is co-located with the ACM 2019 Summer school on HPC architectures for AI and applications

The Italian supercomputer MARCONI, available to the Italian and European scientific community by ISCRA and PRACE, is now number 21 with ~10,5 PFlops in the June 2019 Top500 list of the fastest supercomputers in the world.
Two Cineca systems are ranked in the list.

Italy will host one of the pre-exascale class computers funded by the European Commission in the context of EuroHPC, a joint collaboration between European countries and the European Union about developing and supporting exascale supercomputing by 2022/2023.

The first MISTRAL hackathon project took place at the Fantoli laboratory of the Politecnico di Milano on May 30th 2019. Organized by Arpa Piemonte, it was attended by an audience of various thematic areas experts, introduced by Lorenzo Lipparini, Councilor for participation, active citizenship and open data, Professor Giovanni Menduni and Bernardo de Bernardinis, Civil Protection Department.
