HPC-Europa is an EC-funded programme, coordinated by Cineca, which allows researchers to carry out short "transnational access" visits. The seventh call for visitors is now open. Deadline: 21st February 2019 (23:59 CEST).

Summer of HPC is a PRACE programme that offers summer placements at HPC centres across Europe. Up to 20 top applicants from across Europe will be selected to participate. They will spend two months working on projects related to PRACE technical or industrial work to produce a visualisation or video. The programme will run from July 1st, to August 31th. CINECA, the Italian Civil Protection Department, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), the Regional Agency for the Environmental Protection of Emilia Romagna, the Regional Agency for the Environmental Protection of Piedmont, Dedagroup Public Services will develop a National Meteorological Open Data Portal.

Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from institutions in Europe, Canada, Japan and the United States are invited to apply for the 10th International HPC Summer School, to be held July 7 – 12, 2019, in Kobe, Japan, sponsored by the R-CCS, PRACE, SciNet and XSEDE. Interested students should apply by February 4th, 2019.

Cineca and University of Modena & Reggio Emilia organize a two-month Course: “Metodologie, Tecniche e Tool per Analisi di Big Data”. Topics covered: Distributed Data Processing, Data Analytics and Visualization. The lessons will take place in January - February 2019. The course will be in Italian. The region Emilia Romagna provides 10 grants for residents. Deadline: 13 January 2019 13:00
