HPC for Science

MARCONI, the new Tier-0 system, co-designed by CINECA and based on the Lenovo NeXtScale platform, and our other systems are at disposal of resarchers for solving their computing problems.

Access to our HPC resources is on the basis of a peer-review procedure.

The peer-review process is managed by our internal staff and led by the CINECA Scientific Committee, that manages the principles of the Italian peer-review system to ensure the congruence with European (PRACE) and worldwide procedures.

Resources for bioinformatic projects are offered in the framework of CINECA membership within ELIXIR-IIB the Italian node of the european Infrastructure for Bioinformatics. Peer-reviews are managed by joint CINECA/ELIXIR-IIB staff.

Beyond that, a quantity of resources is available to the Italian scientists on the basis of framework agreements and collaborations with the research communities and institutions.
