A new accelerated HPC system will be installed at Cineca and should be available to production early 2020. This system, equipped with NVIDIA Volta V100 GPUs, opens the way to the pre-exascale Leonardo supercomputer expected to be installed in 2021.
This system will be acquired by Cineca within the PPI4HPC European initiative.
The new system enhances and substitutes the A2 partition of Marconi (KNL) that will be definitively shutted down in the next few months. A plan for migration of the projects hosted on Marconi-A2 will be developed in the coming days and communicated promptly.
