PLX climbs the TOP500

Dear users,
we are very pleased to announce that the new the New PLX-GPU supercomputer introduced by SuperComputing Solutions - SCS S.r.l installed at CINECA, ranked at the 54th position in the top500, the valuable list of the most powerful supercomputers in the world (http://www.top500.org/).
If it's not enough,the PLX is the fastest supercomputer in Italy available to industrial and public researchers today.
This supercomputer will initially be used to optimize and develop applications targeted at hybrid architectures, leveraging software applications in the fields of computational fluid dynamics, material and life science, and geophysics.
The computing system will also been made available to European researchers as a Tier-1 system of the PRACE infrastructure.
