Even from a preliminary analysis, the figures related to this first call for proposals of the 2012-2014 edition of LISA show a great success of the initiative.
43 proposals for "production projects" and 18 proposals for "development projects" were submitted, for a total request of about 89M core hours on BG/Q and 19M on x86_64 architecture. The applications came from researchers affiliated to 7 universities in Lombardia and will now undergo to the review process.
The LISA Initiative (Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Advanced Simulation) is co-funded by the Regione Lombardia and Cineca. The new initiative for the biennium 2013-2014, that follows the former one ended in 2012, offers 100M of core hours for researchers associated with Lombardia Universities and 2 scholarships for Lombard graduates for training in the field of scientific and technical computing, supported by Cineca experts.
