Minister Profumo at CINECA

On October 3rd Francesco Profumo, Minister of University and Research, officially inaugurated FERMI, the new Italian supercomputer, ranked at the 7th position in the June12 Top500.

Minister Profumo officiated the event, that was also the occasion for discussing the perspectives of the national and European computational research world with some of the most relevant players of the HPC and scientific panorama.

The agenda of the event included contributes, besides the Minister one, from Catherine Riviere, president of PRACE Council, Thomas Lippert, coordinator of PRACE IP projects, Claudio Zannoni, president of the Cineca Scientific Committee for PRACE, Francesco Pavone, director of the European Laboratory for Non-Linear Spectroscopy, Alessandro Gelmetti, vice-presidend of Exploration and Production Divison of ENI and Kostas Glinos, director of DG Connect of the European Commission.
