MAX: Materials design at the exascale

MAX, the European center of excellence - a H2020 e-infrastructure - in material science, is now ready to go.

In Italy, Modena, on December 14-15, 2015 was held the kick-off meeting, an opportunity to discuss the latest technologies and models of development of the center.

MaX gathers leading developers and users of materials applications, together with top experts in HPC, including Cineca.

It is based on the collaboration of 13 teams, research institutes, supercomputing centers and business partners, located at 6 European countries (Italy, Spain,  Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, United Kingdom). MAX has its headquarters in Modena, CNR - Nano, so Italy (CNR, Cineca ,Sissa, E4) is confirmed to be competitive at the European level.
