Dear Users,
This is to remind you that Marconi100 will be stopped tomorrow Tuesday 23rd for a major upgrade to Red Hat 8.1 OS as announced in a previous news:
https://www.hpc.cineca.it/center_news/marconi100-upgrade-march-2324
For the complexity of the operations, we expect to bring the cluster back to production within the following day, March 24th.
We remind also that from our preliminary tests the vast majority of the software offered by the module environment appears to be working without any need to be recompiled. In some cases, the upgrade of the system, and specifically of the NVIDIA driver, results in better performances, and in no case we observed a degradation of performance. We will anyway recompile all the modules in the following weeks.
A new XL compiler, compatible with RH8, will be installed together with a new Spectrum-mpi version, so we will recommend to recompile your personal software.
Best Regards,
HPC User Support @ CINECA
