Leonardo ranked 4th in the Top500 list

Dear Users,

this is to announce that, with a measured High-Performance Linpack (HPL) performance of 174.7 petaflops, CINECA’s supercomputer LEONARDO, co-financed by the EUROHPC JU and the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research, makes its debut at the 4th position on the Top500 list of the most powerful supercomputers in the world.

The announce has been made during the SC22 the most important international conference for High Performance Computing, taking place in Dallas, Texas.

This milestone rewards CINECA’s 50-year commitment to supporting research through HPC, and confirms Italy’s role as a strategic asset in the building of the European HPC ecosystem. 

Leonardo will be inaugurated with a ceremony that will take place on November 24, 2022 in Bologna – Italy.
