Interactive Computing service in pre-production phase

Dear Users,

this is to inform you that on June 29th the new Interactive Computing service will be available for all the users with an active account on G100. This service will allow you to access a restricted set of compute nodes of G100 using a web interface based on Jupyterlab. Each node will be equipped with 2 nVidia V100 GPUs and resources will be provided with near-immediate access, thus no queues are expected in order to start an interactive computing session.

The interface will be provided with several initial features, like:
- Python environments for specific tasks (e.g. Dask, Pytorch, Tensorflow...) with the possibility of creating custom ones;
- C/C++ kernel (Xeus);
- in-browser bash terminal;
- Slurm Queue Manager (a web interface to submit and monitor jobs on G100);
- integration with nVidia monitoring tools;
- VSCode interface;
- R kernel.

Further features will be added in the future. Please find at this link a dedicated page of our User Guide with additional information.

The service will be released in pre-production, which means that in the initial stage there is no guarantee of full operability; at the same time, in this pre-production phase accounting from the interactive computing service will be disabled, so resources can be used for free as long as there is an active budget account on G100.
